Inflatable fun!

Hi,
We had another fun (yet busy) weekend! Here goes...

Friday night we had the Meyer's over for supper. The kids had a great time playing outside. They had fun with sparklers and we ended the night with smore's! Yummy!
After they left, we ventured to our new camper...I had promised Presley we would sleep in it! As silly as that sounds (sleeping in our own yard)...it was a lot of fun! Presley and Madison slept like champs...and so did mom and dad!

Saturday we ventured to Jackson for the AgCo employee / family picnic. Mom and Paul met us at our house to check out our camper and then joined us for lunch, checking out the machines Jason builds, and inflatable fun! There was just the right amount of kids so that none of them had to wait too long to go on them. They had 8-10 of them set-up...everything from jumping, climbing, going down slides, farm fun, etc. Presley and Madison had a great time! Madison showed us yet again that she has no fear! She went up and down the inflatables like nothing! Even mommy tried them out!
We stayed for the parade and then the races. All AgCo employees and family got in free.
The girls and I headed home at 10 p.m. while Jason, mom, and Paul stayed until the end. We slept yet again in the camper (yes, again in our own yard!)
Sunday we relaxed! Well...not really. Lots of cleaning and house stuff. The Sieve's came over after supper to check out our new camper.
That was our weekend fun! Hope yours was as enjoyable as ours! Take care!

Happy CAMPERS!

It's official! We are the proud owners of a 1996 Wilderness Camper! After wanting to buy one for many years...we finally took the plunge! We put a deposit down on it last week and picked it up tonight. We had really good luck at Smith's RV in Okoboji! We got a really great first time camper at what we think was a reasonable price! It is a 29 ft. camper with bunks...exactly what we need.

Now the fun begins...getting it ready! I have been making a list of supplies for a few days and it's getting very lengthy. I hope to clean the inside this weekend.

With any luck, we will be camping in the next few weeks (we really need to wrap up on our house project first!) The girls are very excited to go! We will call you if we are in your neighborhood to come and enjoy supper and smores with us!

Blizzard of dresses!

We had a very fun weekend up in the cities shopping for wedding dresses for my sister! She had put this same title in her blog...and I couldn't come up with anything more appropriate (so I stole hers!) And a blizzard of dresses was exactly what it was! After the 75th dress, I stopped counting! It was a lot of fun!

Friday a.m., Amber, Presley, Madison and I trucked up to Mankato to start the shopping! My dad agreed to watch Madison for a few hours while we shopped (thank you dad!) We went to 2 different bridal shops! Presley and I even tried on a few dresses! Then, we took lunch over to my dad's, said goodbye to him, ran to Target, and then drove up to the cities. We shopped a little, had supper at Chipotle, and as if we hadn't had enough...went up to Albertville to shop for a couple more hours! I have never gotten through so many stores there in the amount of time I did! My mom drove up and met us at the Bergeson's around 10 p.m.

Saturday, my mom, Presley, and I got up early to bring Madison over to Jason's aunt and uncle's house (they graciously agreed to watch her at the last minute when we decided that Jason didn't need to come up) and met Amber and Linda (Kevin's mom) at the first bridal shop at 10 a.m. That was after we had gotten lost 2 times...once on the way to Don and Sandy's and once on the way back! My mom and I do not navigate well in the cities together...maybe its too much talking! Anyhow, we went to 3 bridal shops on Saturday. My favorite was the Wedding Shop on Grand! It was awesome! By 4 p.m. we were shot and it was time to go and pick Madison back up. After picking her up, we went to the Bergeson's to get ready for supper, headed to Boca de Buca's (I don't think that's the correct name of the place...but close enough!) for supper and then back to the Bergeson's to crash for the night. We were shot!

Sunday, we got up, went to Kevin's church, had lunch, shopped just a little bit and headed home around 1:30.

It was a very fun weekend!

P.S. I should note that Amber did find 3 dresses she really likes...all of which are completely different from each other! This could be tough!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a lot of fun again this 4th of July! We spent the day down in Okoboji! We hit a few of the shops in the afternoon (yes, even the Harley shop for Jason!).
For supper, we picked up KFC and had a picnic.
We spent the evening at the beach, watched the boats, and enjoyed the fireworks display. The Lakes area always puts on a nice show that lasts 30 minutes. It's amazing all the boats that venture out for them. Hope you had a safe and happy holiday from the Sieve's!

Our house project continues...

We are at a really good point on our house project! The siding is on and the windows and doors are all in! Now it's time to put on the stone and then the front deck. We are getting the front door painted this week. Next week we hope to start putting on the brick. We are crossing our fingers! Stay tuned for some final pictures to come in a couple weeks!

Crystal Springs rodeo...fun had by all!!!

We were excited to be invited to the Crystal Springs rodeo by the Donkersloot's! This was their 4th year there. A couple times they had invited us and it hadn't worked out. This year when they mentioned it we marked it down as we really wanted to go!
We left in the a.m. of June 26 and headed 2 1/2 hrs. north up through Marshall and Canby. We got to the rodeo about 11:15 a.m. It was nothing like we had ever seen before...200+ acres of hillside, horses, campers, tents, 4-wheelers, etc! This was going to be an experience!

We got to our spot...and backed the camper into the circle of 10 other campers. A guy Jason D. works with and his wife had been going for years. Each year the circle continues to get bigger. They even make their own bonfire pit...by hand! It took us about an hour to set-up and not long after to start relaxing and drinking! We spent all afternoon visiting and enjoying the heat. We made supper and then headed up to the rodeo! What a blast! The girls loved it! The rodeo is in a valley of one of the hills and everyone sets up tarps up the hillside all the way around to watch. Their are food and clothing vendors on the top of the hill and you can bring in your own drinks. They have horse back riding, bull riding, barrel racing, calf roping, etc! They even have a world famous clown to entertain! It lasted about 2 1/2 hours. We headed back to the camper to get the kids in bed. At this point it had started to rain. That didn't stop us from heading to the tent in the middle of all the campers for some fun with the other adults. It continued to rain until 1 a.m....which was when we headed to bed!

Saturday we did it all over again! We did go into Clear Lake for the parade at 3. One of Wendy's new found talents is her ability to make these great beer hats! After the parade, she made one for me and my girls had to model it!
We made supper around 6 and then headed to our 2nd night of rodeo fun! One of the best parts of the rodeo was hearing Presley yell "Go faster, go faster" to the barrel racers. Madison enjoyed when everyone was yelling and screaming so she could do that too! After the rodeo, we tucked the kids in bed, made a snack (the Jason's were hungry for steak and hasbrown sandwiches), visited outside with some friends, and called it a night.

Sunday we were ready to head for home! We ate breakfast and packed up. We headed for home about 12:30.

Definitely a fun weekend had by all...and one we would love to do again! Thanks to Jason, Wendy and the kids for inviting us! Hopefully next year we can pull a camper of our own out there!
