Happy Thanksgiving 2010

Happy Thanksgiving 2010 from the Sieve's!
We have so much to be thankful for! Good health and great family and friends!
We celebrated Thanksgiving with my mom, Paul, Grandma, Eric, Mersaydes, Uncle Loren, my cousin Savannah, Uncle Loren's girlfriend Lori and her son Remme on the Sunday before. Jason's parents had decided to do Thanksgiving on that day, so my mom and Paul opted to move their's so that we could come. We had a great meal and some good laughs. It was a fun afternoon. I took a picture of the 4 little girls while they were playing!

On Thanksgiving, we joined Jason's parents, grandparents, brother, his fiance, and their daughter, his mom's sister and brother in law, and their daugther and her family for lunch at the Sieve's house. It was another good afternoon of eating and socializing!

Thanks to our families for hosting 2 great Thanksgiving meals!

Disney On Ice!

About 6 weeks ago, I got an email from Ticketmaster for some amazing tickets for Disney on Ice! If you went the first night, the tickets were even cheaper. It ended up that the kids at Prairie didn't have school on Friday so the Thursday night tickets would work perfectly! We invited our good friends, the Donkersloot's, to join us!

Jason and I had been to Disney on Ice on a date once. That was over 10 years ago. A good friend of mine came along. She still gives me crap about being the 3rd wheel! LOL Amber K.

We met up with the Donkersloots at 4 at Prairie Elementary and headed to Sioux City. Boys in one car, girls in the other. The ride went so fast. We got to Sioux City at 5:30, stopped at Red Robin for a quick bite to eat, and headed to the show. We got there, sat down in our seats, and about 5 minutes later, the show started! There were 4 rows in front of us...but they were on the ice and right next to the ice. We were the first set of bleacher seats up. We couldn't have gotten any closer!

Mickey and Minnie were the stars of the show!
They were going on an adventure to see some friends!
Donald, Daisy, and Goofy were going along!
First stop, Lion King!

And the adventure continues...

Next stop (my favorite Disney Movie of all time), The Little Mermaid...

Next stop, Lilo and Stitch...

This was Presley and Bryn the entire show...they couldn't sit they were too excited!

Intermission...you can see behind them what great seats we had.

Now on to England...Peter Pan and Tinkerbell!!!

Once Madison saw Tinkerbell, she couldn't stop talking about her!
That was her favorite part of the night for sure!
And Peter Pan!

Yes, they are really flying...right over top of us...off to Never Never Land!
Captain Hook!
The Lost Boys
Here comes the ship
All the pirates
Wendy and Tinkerbell
Peter fighting off Captain Hook
Tic Toc, Tic Toc - here comes the alligator

Victory was there's!
And the finale - all the characters came out for it!

It was a great time! Our kids were the perfect ages for it! Presley couldn't take her eyes off the rink and Madison had tons of questions! We will definitely take up another Disney on Ice again! Thanks to the Donkersloot family for joining us!

Madison is POTTY TRAINED!!!

I think it is safe to say we made it! No more diapers, no more diaper genie, and no more diaper bag!!! We made it!!! We tried it a couple times in the past year and weren't successful. Every time we tried it, we were able to work on it 3-4 days...and then our lives got busy again.
Anyhow, the beginning of September, my daycare lady said once the kids get in school full time she would be willing to work with her on it. The end of September I went to pick the kids up from daycare and Shelly said she asked to wear panties that morning and wore them all day with no accidents! Here we go...it was time! She was the exact same age Presley was...3 months before she turned 3.
The first couple weeks were pretty good...she would go a couple days with no accidents and then she would have a day where she would have 2-3 accidents. We were not giving up. After about 3 weeks, she had stayed dry 5-6 nights in a row and didn't want to wear a diaper at night. What the heck...why not!
It's been 8 weeks now since we started and 4 weeks with no accidents day or night! Like I said, I think it's safe to say we made it! Yeah Madison Jay! You are trained! We love you very, very much!

We pulled out everything we could think of to get her trained!
I think we will keep these out a little longer!

If by chance this post jinxes us, I am removing it immediatley!
