Dental Visit and Family Center Fun!

We headed to our first dental visit for Presley at the Pediatric Dentist in S. Falls mid-Oct. After her first major check-up in Worthington in September, the dentist suggested we see someone in S. Falls. Apparently we waited a little too long to bring her in. I was always told to start bringing them when they start school. She had been to the dentist once when she had fallen at age 4 and hurt her mouth and once for a very quick check-up at age 5. She started Kindergarten and we brought her in. Note to self and others - start them at age 3 and bring them every 6 months! The S. Falls visit went as well as we thought it would - she has lots of cavities and is going to need some caps, sealing, etc. Her mouth is very small and they may need to pull some teeth to make room for her adult teeth that are coming in too. After telling the dentist how bad I feel and after asking her if I am the worst parent ever...it was determined that she probably was born with not enough enamel on her teeth to fight off cavities. Thank goodness! I guess a lot of kids have this same problem. Another thank goodness! She said you always learn from your first. Our poor first child has had a lot of these kind-of things happen to her! I think she is a magnet for odd things...nothing too serious...just out of the norm! Plus, the dentist said we need to really kick-up the brushing. We always brush in the mornings but she said it is better to brush at night. Let's just say we have become the brushing, flossing, and mouth wash champs at our house! Those floss picks rock! After the first of the year when our dental insurance starts (we are going to need it this year), she will have a couple visits to get everything fixed. They said since she hasn't had any pain and there is no infections, we are safe to wait. Please say a little prayer for us as she gets her teeth back on track!

So, out of complete guilt, we took her and Madison to the Xcel Family Fun Center! Super fun place for very reasonable! It cost us only $13 for both of them to jump on all the inflatables they want. We could have come at 10 a.m. and stayed unil 8 p.m. if we wanted. Plus, parents jump and slide for free! The girls played for 3 hours and had a blast! Check out the pictures below...

She has no fear!

Even daddy got in on the action! Weee!

We will definitely take them here again! If interested, it's in the old Menard's on the west side across from the mall!
