April 6th was an ABSOLUTE AMAZING DAY for me! I had 2 huge, huge surprises! My sister and her husband came home for a visit!
They left early Jan. for Turkey and had no intentions of coming home until the end of their fellowship which is August. They had been in Turkey for 1 week and she got an email from a gal wanting her to take their wedding pictures in April. The best part was the wedding was less then 10 miles from our house! It was too good to be true...they would make some money to help pay for their trip and get to see us almost 1/2 way inbetween the Jan - August time frame. At first Amber was going to come alone but then after really thinking it over, they opted to both come. Their secret planner and spy back home was none other then my wonderful hubby Jason! Amber emailed him right away and the surprise was in the works! He said the hardest part was the last 2-3 weeks.
Crazy thing...I had a dream 2 weeks before that they surprised me and came home and when I asked Jason, he did not let on at all. Then a week before, someone asked me about Amber and Kevin coming home soon to take engagement pic's of someone they knew. I was convinced they weren't coming home until August and when I told the gal they weren't unless they were going to surprise me, she shut right up. I think she realized she was about to blow it. However, I never told Jason or anyone about the encounter because I completely spaced it off and never thought it would happen.
But, it did happen! The girls and I came home after work on April 6. Everything was same ole, same ole. I got out of the car, walked around and was chatting with Jason (it was a beautiful evening so he was outside), got the girls out, etc. Jason said "hey, Amber's rings arrived in the mail today" and I said "ok." Then he said, "actually, they delivered them!" Amber and Kevin flew out from behind our other vehicle and the screams and tears started to flow! It definitely made one of the top 5 surprises ever to happen to me! I'm not easily surprised!
The next 12 days were so surreal! I just couldn't believe they were home. We had a blast! I can't say we did a whole lot...but just being together was what we needed!
