My mom and I drove up to St. Peter on Aug. 26th in the a.m. to start helping. We met Amber and Dad in Mankato first, loaded our vehicles from my dad's apartment, and went up! We headed right to the reception site. The linen lady had been there for 2 days already and had her part just about done. The college crew started that afternoon with the tables and chairs. We ironed hand-made table cloths for over 2 hours...
At about 10 p.m., we were all shot! Time to head back to the house on campus we had rented for the weekend. It was a great place for all of us! It had 7 rooms you could rent. We rented them all. It was right on campus and very reasonably priced. It had 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, 2 living rooms, laundry facilities, etc.
We got up around 9 on the 27th and continued to set-up until around 3 p.m. The reception hall and church looked absolutely breathtaking!!! Amber and Kevin did an amazing job coming up with the ideas! It was beautiful!
This was a great table they thought of just for kids - it was called the "Tree House!" There were 6-8 kids at the wedding who played at this table from the beginning to the very end!
Beings the icecream lovers they are, they opted to not have a wedding cake and do an "Icecream Bar" instead! It was a hit!
We were all ready! Time to get cleaned-up and go to the rehearsal. We all met at the church at 5:30 p.m. This is where the tears began for me...and they continued about 10 times every day!
