The Big Wedding! Auntie and Kevin get married! Part 1

The big weekend we had been helping plan for over a year had finally arrived!!! We were all so excited!

My mom and I drove up to St. Peter on Aug. 26th in the a.m. to start helping. We met Amber and Dad in Mankato first, loaded our vehicles from my dad's apartment, and went up! We headed right to the reception site. The linen lady had been there for 2 days already and had her part just about done. The college crew started that afternoon with the tables and chairs. We ironed hand-made table cloths for over 2 hours...

And put vased together...

We had worked for 5 hours! It was time to take a break...pedi's and mani's...here we come!

After our time of relaxation, we met up with Jason, Paul, Eric, Presley, Madison, and Mersaydes for supper in St. Peter and headed back to the reception site to work a little more. Here's a picture of Amber and Kevin pointing at their wedding on a huge banner in Alumni Hall at Gustavus. Very cool!
At about 10 p.m., we were all shot! Time to head back to the house on campus we had rented for the weekend. It was a great place for all of us! It had 7 rooms you could rent. We rented them all. It was right on campus and very reasonably priced. It had 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, 2 living rooms, laundry facilities, etc.
We got up around 9 on the 27th and continued to set-up until around 3 p.m. The reception hall and church looked absolutely breathtaking!!! Amber and Kevin did an amazing job coming up with the ideas! It was beautiful!
This was a great table they thought of just for kids - it was called the "Tree House!" There were 6-8 kids at the wedding who played at this table from the beginning to the very end!
Beings the icecream lovers they are, they opted to not have a wedding cake and do an "Icecream Bar" instead! It was a hit!
We were all ready! Time to get cleaned-up and go to the rehearsal. We all met at the church at 5:30 p.m. This is where the tears began for me...and they continued about 10 times every day!

The rehearsal went so great! After, we headed to the Arboretum (SP?) on campus for supper and socializing. It was a great evening. Amber and Kevin gave us all some really special gifts! Presley got a wedding barbie...
Madison and Mersaydes got a Little Tykes Little People wedding set...
Jason got a great flashlight (sorry, no picture of that) and I got my earrings and necklace for the wedding, some great sangria sunglasses, a Coach scarf and...
...gosh how I love Coach boxes...
...that are filled with an awesome sangria colored Coach wristlet!!! Thank you so much Amber and Kevin for the great gifts and for letting us all be a part of your special day!
After supper and gifts, we took a few pictures outside...

...and all headed to the reception site to let everyone see how it turned out and to plan a few more details before the big day! In less then 24 hours from that moment, A+K would be married! Very, very exciting for us all!
