King Turkey Day...wouldn't miss it!

Hi,

I just realized how delinquent I have been on blog updates. I'm about 3 weeks behind...or maybe it's 3 events behind. Anyhow, here goes with the updates (I will start with Turkey Day).

Every year we mark our calendars...the 2nd Saturday following Labor Day is honored as King Turkey Day in Worthington! This is an event we wouldn't miss. Being home town kids, we have so much fun at it every year. And this year, the weather was absolutely beautiful!

Friday night Jason and I participated in the Cathlon on the hospital's team. This is where 10 teams consisting of 10 people compete against each other by turkey bowling, doing an egg toss, running with an egg on a spoon, and tossing a turkey. It was a lot of fun. Our team got 4th! Mary and Darwin agreed to watch the girls for us. After that, we had to work in the beer garden. Lots of fun!

Saturday, we got up and were in town by 8:30 a.m. Presley, Madison, and I walked in the YMCA 5K Fun Walk, watched the 10K racers start and finish (cheered Pauly, Auntie, and Kevin on), ate lunch at the taco stand (Madison and Presley helped collect money),
watched the turkey race, walked with the hospital and clinic in the parade, watched the remainder of the parade, ate supper, and went on some rides.
It's always a fun-filled day for us. We got back to my mom and Paul's at 6. Jason headed to the beer garden at 7 and I joined him at 8. My mom and Paul watched the girls for us. We managed to get back to their house at 1 -1:30 a.m. It was so great to see all our friends...and more so friends we don't get to see very much.
I would say it was another successful event!
